handbook has been compiled using material from a variety of different
sources. It is intended that the document will provide a single reference
point for safety issues across the whole company. Any issues that do
not appear to be dealt with in the handbook must be reported immediately
to the Safety Officer. |
The
Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 provides the basis for safety regulations
that are applicable to all places of work, and it incorporates all legislation
prior to that date. Legal duties are imposed on both employers and employees
to take all practicable steps to ensure and promote the health, safety
and welfare of all present in the workplace |
